About the Item
Classic coloured Murano blown and bent glass Pastoral chandelier with festive floral design elements; richly decorated with flowers and leaves in transparent or pink glass.
The chandelier has 6 arms and lights, is in perfect condition and dates from the 1970’s.
Pauly & C° is one of the oldest glass factories of Murano, it was founded more than 150 years ago.
The company has a long history of association with the best artisans and artists, locally and internationally.
Throughout the years many famous glassmakers such as Barovier, Seguso or Toso started their careers at Pauly & C°.
Murano is a series of islands linked by bridges in the Venetian Lagoon renowned for its long tradition of Venetian glassmaking.
Murano's reputation as a center for glassmaking was born when the Venetian Republic, fearing fire and the destruction of the city's mostly wooden buildings, ordered glassmakers to move their furnaces to Murano in 1291.
Today, Murano is home to the famous Museo del Vetro or Murano Glass Museum in the Palazzo Giustinian, which holds displays on the history of glassmaking.

From the top:
A decorative, flush mount, conical canopy (ceiling mount at the top that serves to cover the electrical box in the ceiling) holds five elegant, nickelled bronze rods that support the bronze frame and the five molded and pressed glass plates.
