Pierre D’avesn French Art Deco Five Light Chandelier

About the Item

Circa 1938 French Art Deco five light hanging fixture / chandelier marked Verreries Des Hanots France. Silver tone metal frame - appears to be nickel plated - has four support rods and original canopy. Fan-shaped, clear, semi-opaque molded glass slip-in shades are decorated with stylized flowers. Five internal lights with candelabra sized sockets. New wiring for US electrical standards. Very good vintage condition with some light scattered oxidation to frame. No flaws or repairs found on glass elements. Design attributed to Pierre D’avesn who was the artistic director of Verrerie des Hanots from 1937 - 1940. Verrerie des Hanots created the brand Verlys in the 1920s to market a line of art glass table ware and decorative pieces.
