This piece is a 1980s postmodern black Italian Memphis style metal pendant. It features a cone-shaped plastic top that serves as the main component of the pendant. The Italian Memphis style is characterized by bold geometric patterns, vibrant colours, and playful, unconventional designs. Inspired by the broader Memphis movement from Italy, it emphasized a mix of futuristic aesthetics, combining bright hues, asymmetrical shapes, and eclectic motifs to create a distinctive, avant-garde look in furniture and decor. This pendant is distinguished also by a turquoise green plastic sphere, which acts as an accent element on the piece. It was manufactured by the German company Brilliant Leuchten, model 97536-06. There are visible signs of surface scratches on the metal and plastic parts of the pendant, indicating some wear and use over time.
