About the Item

This is a fine 19th century hanging church sanctuary lantern. It was electrified at some point in the 20th century. The look is very rich in detail and in very good overall condition, with minimal imperfections and the expected wear. We could not find a makers mark but this is heavy and well made. It could be important. It has been correctly wired to take a standard E26 bulb. The fragile globe is beautiful with a frosted bottom. You can still see the original cone and fluted milk glass smoke catcher. This is also one of the more decorative examples. Its diameter is 20 inches and with all its parts and original chain is 48 inches tall. We can reduce the drop length if needed.
