About the Item

A rare, experimental chandelier designed during the 1960s by Swedish designer, Eric Högland, from the estate of Svend Lundh, founder of the furniture company founded in 1970, Källemo. Part candelabra, part electrical chandelier; this unusual pendant light fuses Högland's signature folkloric whimsy with an industrial edge anticipating the striking aesthetics of 1970s Källemo. 15 spherical orbs dangle from an inverted brass dome topped by four candle holders of bent tubular brass. A constellation of 6 glass orbs adorn the stem of the chandelier, secured by hexagonal brass bolts. The contrast between the utility of the brass hardware and the lightness of the glass ornaments enhances the unusual part-sculptural, part-industrial expression of the chandelier. The chandelier has been rewired to UK standard and comes with a set of three additional brass hooks to alter the total drop of the piece. Specifications: Two additional brass hooks can extend the total drop of the chandelier. Each of these measures 22.5cm in length.
