About the Item
Monumental Art Deco three-tier chandelier made after a ca.1930 design
by Schwitzer & Gräff-Berlin. The architectural shape consists of three-
stage, opal-overlay acrylic glass volumes, which are hung on a silver-plated,
geometric metal base. The metal base is fixed at a certain distance from the
ceiling with four metal elements. The light source placed on the top of the
chandelier generates a soft diffuse light within the three suspensioned
components creating an impressive scenographic effect. This fixture is part
of a unique group of three pieces consisting of chandelier and two wall
lights, made around 1980 for a fashion design gallery in Berlin.
