Swedish mid century modernist chandelier in brass, birch and glass, 1940s
About the Item
A large and impressive Swedish 1940s chandelier made from brass, featuring five curved arms holding cone-shaped shades in opal glass. Each shade is partially wrapped in rattan and secured by a decorative brass ring. The five arms are connected by a birch wood obelisk at the center of the fixture. Although we haven’t been able to identify the manufacturer of this spectacular piece, it is designed in the style of architects like Hans Bergström and Gunnar Asplund.
