About the Item

Rare and unusual looking Swedish modernist chandelier, featuring five cone shaped glass shades mounted on a brass frame, suspended in brass springs which gives the lamp its distinctive appearance. The shades have a black geometric pattern typical for the period. Despite extensive research, we haven't been able to identify this design. In the mid-century period there were a large number of lighting manufacturers in Sweden, experimenting with never before used constructions and often producing each product in small numbers. This chandelier is a great example of this playful period in Swedish design history.

Condition:

Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. There’s a few minor chips on the glass. One shade with a repair. When mounted the repair is hidden beneath the brass frame.
