About the Item

The Sydney light by Anton Fogh Holm & Alfred J Andersen for Nordisk Solar Compagni in the 1960s, rare and beautiful orange lamp in good vintage condition. An impressive pendant light comprised of five tiers of orange lacquered metal. Each layer is circular with pointy spikes, and arranged on top each other slightly offset to give way for light to be emitted through the narrow space between the them. When this large beauty is lit, the combination of the narrow space between the pointy star-like spikes and the warm orange creates a soft illumination with an almost glowing ambiance. The open top and bottom gives way for a more direct light upwards and downwards - perfect for a dining table setting. It would also be an impressive light in the living room or welcoming guests in a entry way. A true beauty alight as well as idle. Rare Danish design with a magnificent expression - and this one is in good vintage condition with normal signs of usage and age (superficial marks). A few of the solders between two tiers have come loose, but this is not an issue when hung (seen in photo 8). Please see the photos! All original, but rewired with 2 m (6' 7") high end quality, white fabric cord - for safety and beauty. Tested and fully functional. Cleaned, labeled and packed in protective plastic cover. Light source: One bulb, Edison screw-fitting (E27/E26) max. 100 watt.
