About the Item
- A rare and impressive trio of church opaline 'Hailware' ceiling pendants by Hailwood & Ackroyd, England circa 1930.
- These milk glass ceiling pendants originally hung inside an old church in West Yorkshire England, and are in a wonderful condition for their age.
- Each of the galleries are stamped with their original makers mark 'H&A. LTD MORLEY BRITISH MADE' and all the glass sections 'Hailware British Made'.
- Height 36cm, Width 36cm, Depth 36cm.
- Price is for the trio of pendants photographed.
- Rewired and PAT tested, ready to hang.
Hailwood & Ackroyd Ltd based in Leeds, England, traded as Best & Ackroyd until 1927. They were well known as one of the UK's leading makers of miners' flame safety lamps, yet the company later manufactured metal stampings, pressings and finally glassware which in turn gave rise to the trade name ‘Hailware’. To date, very few pieces have been recorded using the 'Hailware' mark, the only way of identifying pieces is by the embossed, painted or incised logo seen on the neck of the glass shade.
