About the Item

The 1970s vintage chandelier made by Venini in Murano glass is an exquisite example of high quality Italian craftsmanship and iconic design from that period. This particular piece features a refined structure composed of three-dimensional pendants known as trihedrons. The chandelier has a cascade or drop-shaped structure, with the trihedrons arranged in layers. The arrangement of the larger elements above and the smaller ones below creates a gradient effect that captures and reflects light in a lovely way. Murano glass, known for its quality and is the main material. Formed by three-dimensional pendants in two colors with orange and transparent elements. It consists of 20 large and 10 small pendants, its dimensions are : H 30 cm, width cm. and depth cm. Large clear glass trihedrons have cracks in the glass due to use and age (best seen in the film). The length of the large pendants is 28 cm. by 3 cm. wide; while the small pendants measure 15 cm. by 3 cm. wide. MURANO GLASS Murano glass is a type of art glass produced on the island of Murano, located in the Venice lagoon, Italy. This glass is renowned for its beauty, craftsmanship and centuries-old tradition. The distinctive features of Murano glass include: 1. Vibrant and rich colors: Murano glass is famous for its wide range of vibrant colors. Artisans use a variety of pigments to create rich and intense shades. 2. Handwork: Murano glass making is an art that requires skill and precision. Artisans follow traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation, often shaping glass by hand with specialized tools. 3. Murrine: Murrine are small sections of stained glass arranged in a specific pattern within a larger sheet. This technique is typical of Murano glass and can be used to create complex geometric designs or images. 4. Lampwork: Some Murano glass objects are created using the technique of "lampwork," which involves manipulating glass tubes heated over a flame to shape them into desired shapes. 5. Transparency and luminosity: Murano glass is known for its crystal clear transparency and ability to reflect light magnificently. This attribute contributes to its beauty and makes it ideal for creating jewelry, chandeliers and art objects.
