This exquisite two-toned caramel and raspberry pink colored Murano glass chandelier showcases a mastery of Murano glass craftsmanship. Featuring a bulbous center column with sprouting details, stylized here with daffodils and leaves, and five scroll arms that hold bobeches with petal-shaped rims. When illuminated, the handcrafted chandelier acts as a striking floral centerpiece. The piece is rich with details, including scroll stems, lattice surface designs, rigaree trim, and a hanging center finial; exhibiting a masterful flair in glass craftsmanship.
The glass houses on the island of Murano are famous for highly ornamented glass chandeliers created by the inflation of molten glass followed by cutting, pincering, and other intricate techniques. This is a vintage Murano glass chandelier crafted in the style of the ‘Ca'Rezzonico’ chandeliers, first created by Giuseppe Briati in the 18th century. The vibrant colors are achieved by adding selected metal oxides to the silica during melting, requiring exceptional precision in timing and proportions. This piece is a modern reinterpretation of the ‘Ca'Rezzonico’ style, named after the Venetian palace where Briati’s masterpiece resides, reflecting notions of decadence and extravagance.
This chandelier demonstrates a delicate conversion of modern and Baroque-style design still loved by many, resulting in a glistening bouquet of light. An example of refinement and ephemeral beauty, this chandelier is truly captivating and elevates any interior.
