Vintage Baroque Style Three Arm Cristallo Murano Chandelier With Rigaree Trim
About the Item
This handcrafted cristallo Murano chandelier has three scroll arms and features a bulbous center column with sprouting natural details, stylized here with daffodils and leaves. The body and arms of this piece are made of clear, colorless Venetian glass. The piece has further detailing of scroll stems, twirling leaf ends, and rigaree trim; exhibiting a masterful flair in glass craftsmanship.
The glasshouses on the island of Murano are famous for highly ornamented glass chandeliers made of pincered and molded blown glass. This elegant chandelier showcases a mastery of Venetian glass craftsmanship. This mid-century chandelier is a pared-down interpretation of the ‘Ca'Rezzonico’ style of chandeliers created by Giuseppe Briati in the 18th century. The ‘Ca'Rezzonico’ style is named for the Venetian palace, today a public museum dedicated to 18th century Venice, where Briati’s initial masterpiece resides.
This chandelier evokes the splendor of the past centuries through delicate decorations, refined craftsmanship, and an elegant structure. The cristallo glass creates a warm atmosphere when illuminated and would be a lovely addition to any diving room, living room, or entryway.

- Condition:Rewired: Rewired to meet US electrical standards. It takes five base-size bulbs, incandescent or LED. This fixture requires a canopy and chain which is not included. Three feet of wire at the top can be adjusted to the preferred height. Wear consistent with age and use. Glassblown, no part is perfect or identical. There might be natural imperfections, but no chips, or cracks in the glass. Parts are disassembled and require assembly. Will require special handling and shipping by an experienced white glove service.
