Antique Art Deco Chinoiserie Styled Chrome Torchiere Floor Lamp
About the Item
This antique torchiere floor lamp is unsigned with respect to the maker, but presumed to have originated from the United States and date to approximately 1920 and done in the period Art Deco style. The lamp base is composed of chromed metal and features a central stylized Asian man with a red cold painted metal traditional bamboo hat. The shade is done with molded glass which has been reverse stencil painted with vibrant red and black Asian inspired decoration with a matte finished background. The lamp has been converted from a tri light to a standard bulb size and now has the on/off switch on the wire.

- Condition:Replacements made: The tri light fixture has been replaced with a standard 110 socket so no longer has a switch on the collar of the lamp. There is now a click switch on the cord. Rewired: The lamp has been completely re-wired. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Some light wear to the cold painted finishes on the lamp base and shade as presented in the photos, and consistent with age and use.
