Italy Late 18th Century Pair of Lacquered and Gilted Wooden Carved Torches Lamps

About the Item

This is an exceptional pair of wooden torch holders sculpted, carved, painted and lacquered to imitate marble in shades of green and red, highlighted in mecca-gilt silver. The torches hail from the Late 18th Century, while the contemporary stunning jute lampshades and electric wiring, make these pieces impressive, and able to transform any room. The shaft is a balustrade, richly decorated with sculpted motifs with acanthus leaves, volutes, draperies, interspersed with finely sculpted and carved frames with ornaments of flowers and leaves. Base supported by three feet. The torches have been wired nowadays and also the stunning jute lampshades with silk edge are a contemporary hand made products. This pair of gilded and carved torches, is the result of the high level of craftsmanship of the master Lombard (Northern part of Italy) cabinetmakers. The pieces are in excellent state of maintenance and they are guaranteed original in every parts. The surface was only cleaned not restored and it is original. The pair of carved and lacquered torches, has the Certificate of Authenticity. The documents will be shown on demand in case of interest. The torches have a contemporary EU eletric wiring, it is possible to have all world wiring price excluded on demand. The items will be delivered with an adaptor. The lampshades are hand made, and they are a contemporary production in jute and silk fabric borders, made in Italy.
