About the Item
In this listing you will find an extraordinary example of modernist design - the Brasilia lamp designed by Michel Boyer for the lighting company Verre Lumière.
This hand-made lamp was produced in a limited edition in black lacquer steel and in three different sizes. Boyer designed these highly tectonic objects for a project commissioned by French Foreign Ministry for the French Embassy in Brasília, which is how the lamp got its name.
Base of the lamp is done in lacquered steel and it weights approx. 27kg or 60lbs.
The production of this lamp lasted only for several years. Made in France in 1974.
The lamp requires 4 neon bulbs, available worldwide. It has European plug which could easily be adjusted for use in any country by using a simple power adapter.
Very good vintage condition with some signs of time and use, such as some wrinkles on the lamp shade.
