About the Item

Large glass flush mount by Kaiser, Germany, mid-20th century. The light features an impressive piece of handcrafted and heavily textured clear glass with a tree bark pattern. The glass is held in place by three original chrome-plated screws. The fixings could be replaced with brass, as suits your project. The light is in good original condition, with minor losses to the chrome finish of the fixings, and some fading of the backplate lacquer with use. Due to the age and nature of this piece there may be minor imperfections in the glass. Wiring and Bulbs: The metal ceiling plate is finished in a neutral silver-coloured lacquer. Six ceramic bulb-holders are installed, each taking a small screw-fitting bulb (size E14). We advise low heat bulbs (e.g. LED). New wiring will be required to suit your local needs and regulations. Approximate dimensions: - Diameter of glass 49.5 cm - Height of glass only 9 cm - Height 13cm measured from the ceiling side of plate to dome of glass; this leaves a gap between the glass and the ceiling of approximately 4 cm, allowing light to project beyond the glass. Please note this is a heavy piece which will require suitable installation. The glass and frame will be separated for shipping.
