Extra Large 19th Century Bronze Wall Lantern Palais Du Justice, Brussel

About the Item

A extra large cast bronze lantern from the Palais Du Justice, Brussel circa 1880 of exceptional quality. Stylised from the African palms in reference to King Leopolds recent acquisition of the colony, Congo. A acid etched and frosted thickset glass shade sits within a decorative bronze gallery, this in turn is attached to a heavy gauge cast bronze wall bracket. All metal sections have age related oxidisation, glass in perfect condition Measures: 100cm in height 40cm in width 70cm in depth tall.
