Impressive Brass Wall Lantern from the Savoy Hotel, London
English, Early/Mid-20th Century
An exceptional quality wall-mounted lantern in solid brass, removed from the iconic Savoy Hotel in London. Of grand scale and refined design, the domed brass top is surmounted by a pierced crown and cascades with finely cast acanthus leaves. The body houses its original large frosted glass shade, diffusing the light beautifully.
Elegant and theatrical, this lantern was one of a set of four removed from the Savoy; a pair featured in the 2024 Amazon Prime series A Gentleman in Moscow. This example is presented in original, unpolished condition with pleasing patina. For reference, a photograph is included showing a polished version, offering a restoration direction if desired.
