Art deco murano glass wall sconces by Carlo Scarpa for Venini, Italy, 1930s

About the Item

Elegant pair of Art Deco style wall lamps designed by Carlo Scarpa for Venini in the early 1930s, a perfect example of balance between material experimentation and formal purity. Each wall lamp is composed of a blown Murano glass lampshade with a transparent and milky finish, which diffuses the light in a soft and atmospheric way. The chromed metal frame underlines the rationalist taste of the time, giving brilliance and a modern touch to the composition. The compact and geometric proportions make these lamps perfect for entrances, corridors, living rooms or environments in vintage and rationalist style. A rare example of historical Italian lighting, signed by one of the greatest masters of twentieth-century design. Dimensions: Height: 15 cm Width: 15 cm Depth: 14 cm Conditions: Excellent vintage condition, with very slight signs consistent with age.
