About the Item

A rare French artisan made metal sconce from the 1950s. The sculptural, organic modern silhouette is composed of two layered patinated metal discs with delicate holes and rich glazing in deep, earthy hues. When lit, shades of olive green, plum, and tangerine are beautifully illuminated. Unsigned. France, 1950s. Condition: Great vintage condition. The metal surface displays a natural, aged patina throughout that aligns with age. Both sconces have been professionally rewired for U.S. use with single E26 sockets. Our team of restorationists fabricated new wall and socket mounts from copper. New brass backplates and mounting hardware included. Accepts one light bulb each. Unsigned.
