About the Item

Early 20th Century English Metal Fairground Crown Light A unique example of an early 20th Century metal scratch-built fairground light in the shape of a crown. Hand crafted from metal sheets supported by a pine frame. It has recently been rewired to a UK 240v output power source as the old lamp holders needed replacing due to rust and corrosion. This piece would originally have been positioned at the top of a fairground amusement of sorts. All its original paint still present as shown, a real interior design or restaurant piece of quirky lighting. Size in inches: H 29” x W 32” x D 20” Period: 1920 Material: metal and pine Origin: United Kingdom Condition: worn Condition Report 1. A natural patination across the metal and wooden surface. 2. Wear and scuffs across the painted surface with loss in place. 3. The metal detail is raised in sections. 4. Because this item is hand made its not perfect in shape as show. 5. PAT tested and rewired for UK 240v power source. 6. Light bulks included in the sale. Completely solid in structure and form, a deep natural patina across the whole item, an artifact that dates over 100 years so expect this to reflect in its condition. The photos aim to show this objects condition. Its exceedingly difficult to photograph all the areas of these pieces, therefore we strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment upon purchase. For multiple years we have sold antique and vintage items globally, please expect our items to show relevant age and natural wear, Items are only restored due to breaks and loss, and we always stipulate this in our condition report. We strongly encourage all our clients who buy lighting from us, to get the item fitted by only a professional electrical engineer.
