Five Large Brass Gilded Pair of Palm Sconces, Maison Jansen Attribution
About the Item
Important to avoid any confusion: Price listed is for the unit and there are a total of 5 units. Second there is another lot with single light (4 units available) in my listing that would be a perfect match.
Sculptural pair of sconces. The sconces were showing some age for regular use and gold discoloration. I have had them completely re-polished and gilded with thick gold plating and re-wired.
I am listing with Jansen (Maison Jansen) attribution although not found any listing with these pieces.
Very well manufactured with attention to detail. Backplate covers the US box.
Statement sconces for a touch of gold and glam. Being the shade not transparent, light is only ambiance and gets a very warm tone from the reflection on the gold.

Here an exceptional pair of sconces. The sconces were showing some age for regular use and gold discoloration. I have had them completely re-polished and gilded with thick gold plating and re-wired.

Thanks to a customer who wanted this finish, combining a typical renaissance Tuscan gold leaf finish with a Mid-Century Modern shape.
This beautiful sconce has three moving joints.
On the backplate and the middle you have a dented joint for reaching any point. On the heads there is a turning and 90 degrees up and down to keep the shades vertical and aiming every position.
Natural solid patinated brass. Aluminum shades dust sprayed lacquered in ivory and hand gilted by a local artisan in the Siena area.
Pivoting heads helps with the light distribution in the room. Upper shades contribute to the ambiance light and lower shades for the direct light.
