About the Item

A wonderful set of four french art deco wall sconces in polished brass. All four glass shades are marked “PETITOT FRANCE”. And the Petitot brass is marked and numbered on the back. A very nice and extremely hard to find model from the mid 30ties. Henri Petitot was a famous house for lighting during the art deco era upto the late 40ties. He designed his hardware and shades often in a modernist style with opalescent glasses. His opalescent shades were ordered at the factories of Ezan, Sabino and Verlys. Which factory produced the shades in normal glass like the well known Petitot model on these sconces is unknown. The sconces are in very good condition. All sconces are stamped on the back "2219" and “Petitot”. The shades are in good condition. Thick quality brass. They are rewired and the old sockets have been replaced for new US candelabra base fitters.
