Full Set of 8 Palm Sconces, Brass Gold-Plated, Maison Jansen Attribution

Important to avoid any confusion: Price listed is for the pair and I have two pairs (total 4 units). Second there is another lot with twin light (5 units available) in my listing that would be a perfect match. Here an exceptional pair of sconces. The sconces were showing some age for regular use and gold discoloration. I have had them completely re-polished and gilded with thick gold plating and re-wired. I am listing with Jansen (Maison Jansen) attribution although not found any listing with these pieces. Very well manufactured with attention to detail. Thanks to a customer who wanted this finish, combining a typical renaissance Tuscan gold leaf finish with a Mid-Century Modern shape. This beautiful sconce has three moving joints. On the backplate and the middle you have a dented joint for reaching any point. On the heads there is a turning and 90 degrees up and down to keep the shades vertical and aiming every position. Natural solid patinated brass. Aluminum shades dust sprayed lacquered in ivory and hand gilted by a local artisan in the Siena area. Pivoting heads helps with the light distribution in the room. A pair of beautiful wall light fixtures by Palwa (Palme and Walter), Germany, manufactured in midcentury, circa 1970 (late 1960s or early 1970s). They are made of a gilded / gilt / gold-plated brass frame which is decorated with cut crystal glass and a polished brass backplate.
