About the Item

A sensational and large scaled Italian 18th century glass and gilt eighteen light Tuscan chandelier. The chandelier has two levels of light with a most impressive cut glass gilt bowl above a hand blown glass sphere and circular saucer with kite shaped prisms. The gilt bowl base encases the twelve S scrolled arms at the bottom and six arms at the mid section. The elegant 'S' scrolled arms have a reeded design and end with various patterned glass candle cups and saucers. The central fut is richly decorated by hand blown glass accented with glass spheres and elongated shapes. At the top is a most fanciful foliate crown with additional kite shaped hanging prisms. Exceptional and large large scale.
