Italian Midcentury Individual Clear Murano Ice-Glass Wall Sconce, 1970s
About the Item
Lovely Italian Murano glass Wall Sconce. This fixture was designed and manufactured during the 1970 in Murano, Italy.
This Wall Sconce has never been used, the condition is Excellent.
This Sconce is composed by a Murano Ice-glass and metal structure.
This Wall Sconce is equipped with one light socket E14. A professional electrician has checked and prepared the piece to operate in US, UK and EU.
In 1291, all the glassmakers in Venice were required to move to Murano. In the following century, exports began, and the island became famous, initially for glass beads and mirrors. Aventurine glass was invented on the island, and for a while Murano was the main producer of glass in Europe. The island later became known for chandeliers. Although decline set in during the eighteenth century, glassmaking is still the island's main industry.
