Italian Pair of Antique Wall Mounted Candle Sconces (Wood Plaques w/Iron Arms)
About the Item
An Italian pair of painted wood wall plaques with iron candle arms from the 19th century. This antique pair of wall decorations from Italy were created with 19th century wall plaques, with vintage iron candle arms. The plaques retain much of their original painted finish, and are rectangular in shape. Each sconce is fitted with a two-light candelabra, with scrolling arms giving way to the ruffled iron bobèches, connected together at the backplate, swooping outward in separation. Both the wood and iron have a wonderful old aged patina giving these pieces a warm rustic appearance. This pair of sconces is unwired. These Italian candle sconces will add warmth and intrigued, with the additional of candles, mounted within a hallway, bedroom or living room wall.

An Italian pair of acanthus carved single-candle wall sconces from the early 20th century. This antique pair of wall decorations from Italy each feature elegantly hand-carved scrolling acanthus leaf plaques, full of beautiful ribbing and texture. Lightly carved floral outlines further embellish the voided spots within the front of the wooden backplates. A single carved-wood arm, maintaining the scrolled acanthus leaf theme, gently protrudes out from the center bottom, each terminating into a ruffled metal leaf bobe`che, ready to receive a single candlestick within it's center. A French pair of 19th century sconces mounted on shapely carved and painted wood back-plates. This antique pair of sconces from France have been fashioned from 19th century brass/metal fixtures consisting of elaborately designed metal plaques, metal backplates, and a three-arm light fixture in leaf motif with metal flower petal wrapped bobèches, which have been mounted on 20th century wooden plaques. The carved wood plaque are shapely with scalloped top sides and rounded bottoms, and have a muted green finish which looks quite nice with the patina of the brass and metal.
