Italian Vintage Sconce in Amber Gold Glass with Hanging Crystal Leaves
About the Item
2 available - Vintage sculptural Venetian organic wall light with hanging crystal leaves. The central cone shape core in high-quality Venetian Murano glass in a very chic golden amber color worked with the Pulegoso technique: lots of irregular air bubbles, the effect is obtained by injecting into the molten glass a component that reacts and in doing so releases gas bubbles, (the inventor of this sophisticated technique, in the late 1920s, is Napoleone Martinuzzi, the art director at Venini & Co). The central body is finished with a twisted finial embellished with pure 24kt gold and is decorated with 3 individually handcrafted hanging leaves in clear Murano glass with extraordinary texture and the contrasting reflective crystal brings this sconce alive.
