Wall Applique - Wall Sconces - Vintage Italian Lighting - Vintage Sconce
Vintage Italian LP12 sconce by Ignazio Gardella, brass frame and opaline glass mushroom-shaped lightshades. Some collectors indeed nickname these lamps "funghi", Italian for mushrooms.
Gardella originally designed the lamps for the "Galleria d'Arte Moderna" in Milano, and they were subsequently put into production by Azucena, the brand he had founded together with Luigi Caccia Dominioni and others.
Increasingly rare, these fixtures are not easy to come by despite being a rather common sight in Milanese entryways: who has a set is usually not willing to let them go.
We have two lamps available, sourced from an old apartment, they have been rewired and sockets have been replaced to ensure safety of use, as the original components were outdated and worn out.
