About the Item

This Heirloom Quality, Hand-Crafted Lantern designed by Architect Anthony Grumbine features a classic tapered form with six glass panels on the top and the bottom, creating dynamic silhouettes from every angle. This large hexagonal fixture is striking in numerous exterior, as well as interior, settings and exemplifies the high quality and aesthetic for which Santa Barbara Lighting Company is known. Lantern shown in SBLC Grey Finish with SBLC Clear Glass. Hand-forged in heavy gauge wrought iron, in Southern California. All lanterns go through a metalizing process, a protective zinc layer added to ensure protection and durability against corrosion and harsh weather conditions. Sizing: Standard: 16.5" H x 11" W x9.5" D Large: 18.75" H x 14.25" W x 12.5" D All lights are handmade and made to order. Dimensions may vary slightly. All lights ship with 5w LED Edison dimmable filament bulb. This lantern will ship within 8-10 weeks. Larger orders may have longer lead times. As with any handcrafted product, slight discrepancies are inherent in the art of forged iron, and even considered desirable as they indicate our old-world craftsmanship. Natural variations in tone, texture, and color may occur as our finishes are hand painted.

Antique Extra Large Wrought Iron & Glass Entrance Lantern Pendant Light, ca 1890
Located in Lisse, NL
Truly impressive and large, former gas lantern made into a single-light pendant. If you are a collector of truly amazing antiques then this large and possibly unique lantern could be flying your way soon. With antique light fixtures as one of our specialities, we have never seen a lantern of this design and with these details. Let alone one of this amazing size and beauty and the stunning patina makes this unique antique even more beautiful. It is getting ever harder to find all handcrafted antique fixtures of this age and because of the quality and quantity of the details we are convinced that this amazing specimen was originally made for an entrance of a large and impressive country house or mansion. The handcrafted, tiles roof and the brass finial at the bottom are some of the other stylish design elements. In our view this is the ideal antique light fixture / lantern for an porch or entry hall. All four glass panels too are in very good condition and both with the light switched on and off this former antique gas light...
