About the Item
we offer for sale a ceramic wall decoration, almost made in the round like a sculpture.
Made during the mid-20th century in Italy by the ABC factory in Bassano, a renowned Italian center for artisanal ceramics, this item has all the elements that distinguish the Italian style of the 50s.
Carefreedom, fun and color are shaped into household objects by the skilled hands of Italian artisans.
Before the advent of minimal functionalism, Italian household items and furniture were closely linked to artisanal production since the advent of pure industrial production was very late in Italy, so each piece produced is special, unique and super-worked.
Curls and weaves characterize the production of bamboo and rattan, furniture with zoomorphic and unusual shapes is decorated with refined inlays and handles in cast brass and bronze, and what about ceramic production?
The article we propose is a fusion between a ceramic wall decoration and a lamp, depicting the allegorical figure of Harlequin, a well-known Venetian carnival mask identifiable in the typical trickster easily recognizable by the colorful diamond-patterned costume, which also inspired Alessandro Michele's latest collection for the Valentino fashion house, and a black mask that hides his face.
