About the Item
A Pair of glamorous italian wall light datable between the 1940s and the 1950s.
These midcentury Sconces were made with precious materials, like brass and copper and the the curved and floral shapes suggest that they were handmade, as well as the beveled mirrors.
Both the sconces are equipped with two lights, located inside the copper flower and the the the electrical system was rewired by a professional to the current standard.
The appliques are enriched with two beveled mirrors which, as for the Baroque candles, refract the light by amplifying it.
The brass mirrors have a heart shape that strongly recalls the style conceived by Gio Ponti for the mirrors of the time.
One of the mirrors has been replaced, because the original was broken; so it was replaced with tailor made and hand beveled one to match the other .
The wall lights are in good vintage conditions.
They show minimal sign of use and oxidations visibile in the photos.
