About the Item
Pair Antique French Louis XV Painted Wall Sconces are the perfect choice to provide timeless elegance to any room! Carved from solid wood by master sculptors, each features the classic asymmetrical rococo style shell on top, each "facing" in opposite directions. Below the top centerpiece appears an inverse Florentine style decoration flanked by acanthus fronds which extend all the way to the base which is finished with upturned scrolls and hanging acanthus foliates. In between, the body of the sconces have been painted white to contrast with the carved elements which are highlighted in patinaed gold. The gracefully scrolled arms are also adorned with gold acanthus leaves and are fitted with newly wired sockets covered with realistic but heat-resistant candlesleeve covers.
