About the Item

An Exquisite Pair of French Mid-Century Modern (1940 period) partially gilt wrought iron sconces attributed to Maison Bagues. The pieces are hand-hammered and hand formed, and remarkably, the craftsmanship of the bouquet of flowers shows life like form and detail. The traces of gold leaf and patina soften and enliven the pieces still further. References: Rose, Lilly.
