Pair Louis XVI Style Gilt-Metal & Champlevé Enamel 5-Light Wall-lights-Sconces

About the Item

A large and impressive pair of Louis XVI style gilt-metal and champlevé enamel five-light figural wall lights (sconces - appliques) after the model by Pierre-Philippe Thomire (French, 1751–1843). Each sconce with a ribbon-hung reeded and tapering backplate surmounted with a single cherub bust, with enamel candle-holders and wax drip trays, the lower ovoid enameled cornucopia stem, applied with three Classical masks suspending fruiting garlands, issuing acanthus-sheathed reeded and spirally-fluted out scrolled candle-arms, above a terminal of trailing oak leaves, ending with twin-tassels. Circa: late 20th century. Measures: height: 41 1/2 inches (105.4 cm) Width 25 1/4 inches (64.1 cm) Depth 12 inches (31 cm).
