About the Item

An exceptional and rare pair of wall sconces designed by Seguso Vetri d’Arte under the artistic direction of Archimede Seguso in Venice, circa 1938. These sculptural lights take the form of stylized bellflowers, with clear fluted Murano glass shades delicately opening like petals — a striking blend of botanical grace and glassmaking mastery. The brass structure is beautifully detailed, from the floral-shaped cup to the scalloped wall plate, all enriched by an extraordinary natural patina. The golden tones, subtle oxidation, and gentle surface wear offer a warm, timeworn texture that speaks to their authenticity and age. Highly decorative and refined, this pair is a testament to pre-war Murano production — poetic, rare, and rich with historic presence. No chips or cracks to the glass. Visible signs of age and oxidation on the brass, left intentionally untouched to preserve the character of the original finish.
