About the Item

Pair of Delight Wall Lamps or Sconces by Adrien Gardere for Ligne Roset, France Hard-to-find, pop art-style pair of orange-colored wall sconces made of translucent thermo formed polymer. The light source is concealed in the formed domes. Stainless steel pegs on each corner; attached to the wall via a metal strip in the back; can be plugged in using the existing cords or hard wired. Minor color fading to rubber unseen when lit (see last image for subtle color difference from use.) Designed for Ligne Roset, Cinna as the 'Delight' line of lighting by Studio Adrien Gardere, France 1997.

An outstanding set of two sputnik chandeliers designed by Paolo Venini, manufactured by VeArt in Italy, circa 1960. These eye-catching lamps have a high quality chrome metal base with many arms holding flower shapes made from high quality Murano glass. The lamps are crafted with an excellent eye for detail. When lit, the lamps emit a wonderful warm light that is nicely diffused by the glass. This rare set would make a beautiful eyecatcher in any Mid-Century Modern interior. In good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Paolo Venini (1895–1959) emerged as one of the leading figures in the production of Murano glass and an important contributor to twentieth-century design. Venini was born in the town of Cusano near Milan, Italy. After serving in the Italian army in World War I, he trained as a lawyer and began his practice in Milan. He soon developed an acquaintance with Giacomo Cappellin, a native of Venice who owned a Milan antiques...
