Pair of French Mid-Century Bronze Wall Sconces in the manner of Jean Perzel
About the Item
A very good quality Pair of French Mid-Century (1940's) bronze wall sconces with two scroll and cornucopia design arms with a round glass bobeche and supported by a gorgeous shaped backplate. These beautiful wall sconces are in the style of Jean Perzel.
In 1923, at the age of 31, Jean Perzel specialized in the study of lighting modern interiors and founded his company. He set up his showroom and manufacturing workshop on rue de la Cité Universitaire in the 14th arrondissement. From 1925, Jean Perzel, obsessed with the idea of amplifying light, made all his glass pieces. He will draw all his creations himself, in a perpetual search for elegance and purity of forms.
These wall lights highlight the architecture of the places for which they are intended. The pure lines of these wall lights will enhance any setting that time will not mark.

Since its establishment in 1860, the Maison has been an emblem of French sophistication in luxury lighting design. Carried on by Noël’s son Eugène and grandsons Victor and Robert, Maison Baguès continued to progress, adding intricately detailed iron lighting collections in the 1920s as well as stair banisters, gates and accessory tables...
