Pair of Porcelaine Wall Sconces by the French Duo Rousse

About the Item

Pair of wall sconces made by the french duo artist ROUSSE, these refined pieces are made of porcelaine, round shaped with a slit in the center. Made to be put in front of a source of light (not provided). Each piece is signed and comes with their certificate of authenticity ROUSSE - ONE NAME, TWO CERAMICISTS The French duo Loraine Savary & Stéphanie d’Ardier create their work hand in hand: sculptural lights, sculptural small furniture, as well as bas-reliefs. Sharing a certain taste for simplicity and sobriety, the craftswomen created their own vocabulary. Their experimentation centers mainly around the play on light, research for a certain line purity and textures of raw bisqued clay. From draft sketches of new ideas to pieces just out of the kiln, by way of shaping the clay, the ceramicists create together unique pieces, showing their diverse sensitivities, which complement each other.
