About the Item

Inspired by the natural shade of a traditional palapa, this sculptural wall sconce merges earthy, rough-hewn textures with minimal contemporary design. Each sconce is hand-built from speckled stoneware clay using slab construction techniques, then formed into a thin, delicate frame that highlights the maker’s touch. The flat ceramic shade is meticulously handwoven with natural raffia, radiating outward around a central accent finished in a satin matte turquoise glaze, evoking tranquil coastal waters and adding a striking pop of color. The fixture is mounted on an unlacquered brass armature, designed to develop a natural patina over time. It accommodates two E12 candelabra base bulbs (not included); LED bulbs are recommended for energy efficiency. Perfect for entryways, hallways, or hospitality spaces seeking artisan-made lighting that balances rustic warmth with refined minimalism. Dimensions: Approx. 12.25” Diameter x 4” H Material: Speckled stoneware, natural raffia, satin matte turquoise glaze, brass hardware Bulbs: Two E12 candelabra base bulbs recommended Handmade in Los Angeles, CA
