Space Age Wall Light, Flush Mount by Teka, Germany, 1960s
About the Item
Original discus lamp from the 1960s by Teka (similiar to Honsel), Germany. The lamp is made of aluminum with a brushed brass surface. It can be attached to both the ceiling and the wall. The lamp has an E 27 metal socket and a plastic bracket for wall/ceiling mounting. The lamp is in good condition with only little scratches and the brass coating is partially rubbed off on the edge - see photo.
The elegantly shaped aluminum lampshade slopes slightly inwards before rising again towards the socket. A mirror head lamp creates a beautiful indirect light with a beautiful corona around the lamp body. These discus lights have now become a classic in recent design history and are only rarely available. An absolute eye-catcher in an retro 60s interior.
