Wall Sconces Pair Mid-19th Century French Louis XVI Bronze Doré
About the Item
Rare pair of finely chiseled matte and shiny gilt bronze sconces. An imposing tied ribbon overhangs the sconces. A knotted link is in the center from which two berry branches come out. the bs of the sconce end with two pompoms. Along the shaft offers a floral and vegetal theme. The two sconces in a vegetal decoration of vine foliage and its bunches of grapes are totally decorative by the quality of the work and the very poetic subject
Magnificent French work in the Louis XVI style with
from the Napoleon III period around 1850-1860.
In very good condition, high quality cold carving, original mercury gilding with a matt and shiny double patina.
