About the Item
This is a Hand-Forged, Sculptural, Patinated Steel Table Lamp, executed by Marcello Fantoni in Italy in the mid-1960s. It is truly one-of-a-kind and is a very special creation. The body of the piece is comprised of hand-welded blackened-steel pieces, and it has a substantial weight to it. We have paired the base with a new drum lampshade in gray.
This lamp measures 15.75 inches long, 16.5 inches wide, and 33 inches high. The piece is abstract in nature and the finish is rough with an intentionally aged look. Overall, this piece is in excellent condition. Please see photos.

Marcello Fantoni
Marcello Fantoni was a Florentine artist who specialized in ceramics. He studied at the Art Institute in Florence, where Libero Andreotti and Bruno Innocenti were his sculpting professors and Gianni Vagnetti was his figurative art professor. Fantoni began to work as a ceramist in 1934, opening his factory in 1936. After the Second World War, he became very successful, and his works are held in some of the world's most important museums (from the USA to Japan).
