19th Century French Delft Blue and White Painted Porcelain and Brass Oil Lamp

About the Item

This elegant antique oil lamp was crafted in France, circa 1880. The porcelain "Lampe a Petrole" sits on an intricate brass base decorated with shell motif over curved feet. The fixture is hand painted with a beautiful French countryside landscape scene featuring a woman, man, and sailboat in the foreground. This work of art also displays traditional blue and white floral motifs in the manner of Delft and is further embellished at the top with the original brass oil container and original knob key. The Napoleon III faience lamp is in excellent condition with new wiring, and adorns a rich patinated gilt finish. Shade not included. Measures: 6.25" Diameter 21" Height.
