Beautiful pair of finished plaster table lamps after Alberto Giacometti and Jean-Michel Frank. The lamps feature double clusters and round white-painted ball finials. Finest quality materials of plaster/ resin and workmanship. Made in France around 1970
Good condition, recently electrified with a resin sphere detail on top of the metal Harp.

This model is inspired of plaster lamps designed by Jean-Michel Frank and executed in collaboration with Diego Giacometti, circa 1930s.
These exceptional pieces embody Frank’s signature purity of form and minimalist elegance, subtly enhanced by Giacometti’s poetic sensibility. Handcrafted in plaster with some resin , the lamps feature softly sculpted silhouettes and a matte, chalky finish that glows beautifully when illuminated.
May be a model done for Yves Saint Laurent, fashion designer and substantial art & antiquities collector, who was enamored by a lamp he owned of Giacometti for Jean-Michel Frank from the 1930s. He asked his decorator Jacques Grange to find them for all his boutiques. Unable to deliver, per availability and pricing, Jacques made them redone in plaster resined to mimic its original manufacture.
Timeless and serene, they reflect the refined quietude of Frank’s interiors — where materials speak softly and shapes are reduced to their most essential form. The collaboration with Diego Giacometti adds a layer of artistic depth, making these lamps true collector’s pieces.
