A striking example of Swedish modernist lighting design, this table lamp model E1163 was produced by the renowned manufacturer ASEA Belysning in the 1940s. Expertly crafted in solid brass, the lamp features a sculptural, flared cone-shaped shade, elegantly finished with a decorative cutout edge detail that softens the geometric form. The shade is supported by a stained beech pillar, which provides a beautiful contrast to the polished brass and adds to the lamp’s organic yet refined character. ASEA, the Swedish electrical company, was established as early as 1883, specializing in the production of electrical lights and generators. ASEA's Stockholm drawing office was responsible for the development of numerous modernistic lamps, designed for both public spaces and domestic applications. The company collaborated with several renowned designers, including Hans Bergström and Uno Kristiansson, over the years.
