About the Item

Exquisitely handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam, Eugène & Victor are one-of-a-kind table lamps made from vintage vases designed by Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière, Belgium for Royal Sphinx (formerly Petrus Regout) in Maastricht, the Netherlands. The vases, dating from 1969-1979, feature the “Made for Royal Sphinx by Boch, Delfts” mark on the bottom and are adorned with the distinctive deep Delft blue floral motifs for which Boch Frères is renowned. The underglaze decoration on these vases was applied using the intricate transfer print method, where a monochrome design on paper—originating from an engraved copper or steel plate—was transferred onto the ceramic surface. This technique allowed for the creation of highly detailed designs that would have been impossible to achieve with hand-painting alone. The rich dark blue color is a signature of the Delft Blue ceramics produced by Petrus Regout & Co. and Royal Sphinx, adding to the lamps' unique charm and elegance. Each lamp is topped with a custom scarlet red velvet lampshade, handmade in an Amsterdam atelier, and finished with a matching red cord. This bold pairing of vibrant red velvet with classic Delft blue ceramics offers a captivating contrast, blending antique charm with modern luxury. Standing at an impressive 65 cm (25.6 inches), Henri & François make a statement in any space, bringing both color and heritage into your decor. Please note, the lamp is fully wired for use in the U.S. Additionally, the listed height includes the lampshade. We also ensure compatibility for global use by offering a free plug customization service to match the electrical standards of your specific country. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
