About the Item
Huge Brutalist and Space-Age style table lamp by Estiluz, Spain, 1970s. Structure made of metal and polished brass with a very nice patina due to the passage of time. Top lampshade made of a metal frame coated with cocoon resin.
This material, the cocoon resin, was invented after World War II to protect unarmed warships and other unprotected items. It is made of powdered plastic and fiberglass. Arturo Eisenkeil imported this material to Italy, with which he made lamps and marketed them.
For two E27 bulbs. Original electrical installation reviewed. Good condition, with its patina on the metal (see photos).
