About the Item

Exquisitely handcrafted by Amitābha Studio from a vintage Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles) vase made in 1974, this one-of-a-kind table lamp is a timeless interpretation of Dutch ceramic artistry. The vase is an original piece of Royal Delft pottery, hand-painted in the factory’s iconic Delft Blue. We’ve paired the blue and white ceramic lamp base with a bespoke tailored white satin lampshade trimmed in a matching cobalt blue, complementing the glaze tones and offering a fresh, modern contrast to the ornate base. The base of the lamp, a beautifully round vase, was handmade and exquisitely hand-painted with a floral motif by Royal Delft master artisan M.H. van Aalst. To attest to its authenticity, it bears the Royal Delft year and makers mark 'CT' from 1974 on its underside, along with the painter's initials ‘MA’. Elegant yet versatile, this lamp suits a wide range of interiors—from classic European to coastal, Grandmillennial, or modern traditional. Whether styled on a console table, bedside, or in a curated entryway, this piece offers functional lighting and historic decorative value in equal measure. ⸻ Please note: The lamp is fully wired for use in the U.S. Additionally, the listed height includes the lampshade. We also ensure compatibility for global use by offering a free plug customization service to match the electrical standards of your specific country. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us! ⸻ About Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles): De Porceleyne Fles, later given the distinction of Koninklijke or Royal, known now as Royal Delft, is a Dutch manufacturer of Delft Blue pottery, or Delfts Blauw aardewerk, headquartered in Delft, the Netherlands. It is the only remaining ceramics factory out of 32 that were established in Delft during the 17th century. Founded in 1653, it has been active for over 360 years without interruption. Royal Delft is not only the oldest surviving producer of Delftware, but one that is highly respected for its artistry. The motifs on Delft Blue ceramics find their roots in the Chinese porcelain from the Ming and K‟ang Hsi dynasties. About Amitābha Studio: Amitābha Studio is a design atelier dedicated to transforming historic European ceramics into one-of-a-kind lighting objects. Each lamp is crafted with deep reverence for the original form, using non-invasive methods that preserve the integrity of every antique or vintage vase. We pair these bases with bespoke lampshades—often made from luxurious textiles such as vintage sari silks or fine European fabrics—and finish each piece with carefully selected cords, fittings, and handmade brass elements. Our work is guided by a commitment to sustainability, cultural heritage, and timeless design.
